Richard "Dick" Nalefski
August 3, 1930 — March 1, 2015
Richard “Dick” Nalefski of rural Breese, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese at the age of 84 years. Dick was born in Decatur, Illinois on August 3, 1930, the son of Frederick and Callie (Ray) Nalefski. He married Edna (Short) Burnett in Troy, Illinois of August 6, 1993 and she survives.
Dick is also survived by his children: Edward Nalefski and wife Mary and Andy Nalefski both of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Susie Howting of Edwardsville, Illinois, and Maggie Norcross and husband Charlie of Indian Rock Beach, Florida; a sister: Doris Mattchen and husband Jim of Decatur, Illinois; a brother: Bob Nelefski of Decatur, Illinois; 3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 stepsons: Larry Burnett of Sandoval, Illinois and Mark Burnett and wife Cindy of Carterville, Illinois; 4 step grandchildren; and 1 step great grandchild.
Mr. Nalefski was preceded in death by a son: Richard Nalefski, Jr.
Mr. Nalefski was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Breese and had served on the North District Water Board. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Nalefski will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Allan Mason officiating.
Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
