Richard Hetzel

Richard Hetzel of Carlyle died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese at the age of 51 years. He was born in Breese on December 12, 1959 the son of Robert and Mary (Brower) Hetzel.Richard is survived by his parents of Carlyle: a daughter: Michelle Hetzel of Breese; a brother Robert 'Junior' Hetzel of Carlyle; and many cousins and friends in Carlyle, Salem and Centralia.Richard served four years in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Iowa, USS Pruett and the USS Briscoe. Richard had been employed at North American Lighting in Salem. He enjoyed hunting, especially coyote and deer.Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Mark Goldman officiating. The interment will follow at Carlyle Cemetery.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday or on Wednesday from 8 until the time of services at the Frerker Funeral Home, 740 Fairfax, Carlyle, Illinois.Memorials may be made to the Carlyle Cemetery Association.
