Mary Lou (Perkins) Steffy of Centralia died Friday, March 11, 2011 at St. Mary’s/Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia at the age of 74 years. She was born in Shattuc, Illinois on January 31, 1937 the daughter of Robert J. and Alice F. (DePontaut) Heinrich. She was preceded in death by her two husbands: Jack Perkins and Mahlon Steffy.
Mary Lou is survived by her children: Sherry Neal and husband Jerry of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Robert Baty and wife Fay of Anna, Illinois; sisters: Bernice Tune and husband Roger and Martha Copple both of Patoka, Illinois; brothers: John Heinrich and wife Vickie of Vernon, Illinois and Michael Heinrich and wife Stephanie of Centralia, Illinois; grandchildren: Rachael Allison, Jessica and Justin Baty; and a great grandson: Michael Crowe.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and brothers-in-law: Jimmy Orrell and David Copple.
Mary Lou was a dispatcher for the Marion County EMS.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Carlyle Cemetery in Carlyle. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
