Letha (Stark) Belcher of Carlyle died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at her home in Carlyle at the age of 90 years. She was born in Carlyle on May 2, 1919 the daughter of Homer and Ruhama Alice (Shepard) Bone. Letha married Joseph Stark on November 19, 1942 in Clayton, Missouri and he preceded her in death on December 23, 1971.
Mrs. Belcher is survived by a daughter: Janet Stark Petri of Carlyle; a son Joe Stark and wife Trella of Bethalto, Illinois; two brothers: Leroy Bone and wife Maria of Los Angeles, California and Lloyd Bone of Jacksonville, Florida; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandsons; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Letha was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Marcella Schulte; sisters: Marie Simonton, Grace Hillingstead, Rose Ussrey, Dorothy Niepoetter and Anita Lytle; and a brother: Harold Bone.
Mrs. Belcher was a cook the Beckemeyer Grade School for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carlyle and enjoyed quilting, crocheting , cooking (especially pies) and being with her family.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church in Carlyle with Rev. Mark Goldman officiating. The interment will follow at Beckemeyer Cemetery in Beckemeyer.

Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Tuesday from 4 to 8:00 P.M. or at the First Baptist Church in Carlyle on Wednesday from 10 to 11:00 A.M.
