L.B. Crawford, age 84 of Carlyle passed away on Friday July 27, 2012 at the Carlyle Healthcare Center. Mr. Crawford was born on September 9, 1927 in New Middleton, Tennessee the son of Charlie and Kate (Mason) Crawford. In 1948 L.B. married Inez Bates in Gordonsville, Tennessee.
Mr. Crawford is survived by his wife and two sons: Clarence Crawford of Edwardsville, IL and Anthony Crawford of Naperville, IL.
Mr. Crawford was a veteran of the United States Army. L.B. later worked as a long haul truck driver for ABF Freight Systems before retiring in 1988. Mr. Crawford and his wife were looking for a nice town to retire in, they chose Carlyle and have lived there ever since. L.B. loved the area and enjoyed fishing.
In keeping with Mr. Crawford’s wishes he was cremated. No services will be held in Carlyle. Services will be held in Gordonsville, Tennessee at a later date.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Crawford’s honor to the Carlyle Healthcare Center. Memorials will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle.
