Larry J. Hunter

Larry J. Hunter of Carlyle, IL passed away surrounded by his family at the Carlyle Healthcare Center on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the age of 70 years. Larry was born in Piedmont, MO on December 19, 1944, the son of Coco Wade and Merel (Phelps) Hunter. He married Nelda Charlton in St. Louis, MO on March 1, 1995 and she survives in Carlyle.
Larry is also survived by his children: Glenda Wriley of Potosi, MO, Jillian Wallace of Camdenton, MO, Gail Kuhls of Ferrin, IL and Martha Price of Carlyle; sisters: Mary Ann Wells and Marilyn McKenney both of Piedmont, MO, Marsha Smith of Kuttawa, KY and Melissa Hartnett of Park Hills, MO; eleven grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.
Mr. Hunter was a laborer and enjoyed watching TV, fishing, and being with his family.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle with Rev. Mark Goldman officiating. The interment will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in East Fork Township.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Carlyle Healthcare Center or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
