Kenneth L. Figge

Kenneth L. Figge, age 73, went to be with the Lord on Friday June 8, 2012 at Caring First Nursing Home in Breese. Mr. Figge was born on November 19, 1938 in Alton, IL the son of Tobias and Thelma (Meyer) Figge. He married Judy Bayley on May 14, 1960 in Alton. She preceded him in death on July 5, 2000.

Mr. Figge was also preceded in death by his parents and a sister Arlene Cooper.

Ken is survived by a daughter Denise Figge of Melton, FL; two sisters: Charlotte Simms of Moro, IL and Geraldine Lippisch of St. George, UT; and a grandchild: Nick Manhart of Melton, FL.

Mr. Figge graduated from the University of Illinois College of Engineering. He became a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and Missouri. Ken was a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and the National Society of Professional Engineers. He was also a business partner of HM&G Engineers in Carlyle, he retired in 1993.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday June 12, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle with Fr. Jim Buerster officiating. Interment will follow at the Carlyle Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday from 6 until 8:00 PM at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle and on Tuesday from 10 until 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carlyle.

Memorials in Kenneth’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association and will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is handling the arrangements.
