Grace Peppenhorst

January 18, 1920 — March 9, 2015

Grace Peppenhorst passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 surrounded by her children at Villa Catherine Supportive Living Center in Carlyle at the age of 95 years. Grace was born in Carlyle on January 18, 1920, the daughter of Earl F. and Mary Agnes (Schmitt) Davis. She married Paul Peppenhorst on August 12, 1941 at St. Mary Church in Carlyle and he preceded her in death on October 18, 2008.
Grace is survived by her children: Pauline Albers and husband Stan of Beckemeyer, John Peppenhorst and wife Linda of Bartelso and Michael Peppenhorst and wife Sharon of Beckemeyer; son-in-law: Mat Kluemke of Carlyle; a sister: Vera Smith of Lovington, IL; a brother: Oliver Davis of Beckemeyer; fifteen grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Mary Kluemke; a great grandson: Deven Hollenkamp; a brother: Alfred Davis and wife Esther; brother-in-law: John Smith, sister-in-law: Leona Davis; father and mother-in-law: John and Katherine Peppenhorst; and in-laws: Leander and Viola Peppenhorst, Marie and Joe Suarez, Monica and Eldred Halluin, Anthony and Alvina Peppenhorst, and Joe and June Peppenhorst.
Mrs. Peppenhorst was a member of St. Anthony Church and St. Ann Sodality. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, bowling, playing bingo and most of all spending time with her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Anthony Church in Beckemeyer with Fr. Chuck Tuttle and Deacon Bob Lippert officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in St. Anthony Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family at the Frerker Funeral Home in Carlyle on Friday from 4 to 8:00 PM or on Saturday from 8 to 9:30 AM.
For those wishing to honor Mrs. Peppenhorst with a memorial gift, the family suggests SIDS Resources Inc., Clinton County Citizens For Life, St. Anthony Cemetery Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice and those will be received at the Frerker Funeral Home which is serving the family.
