Clifford "Butch" Grayling

Clifford G. "Butch" Grayling of rural Carlyle died Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at St. Mary’s/Good Samaritan Hospital in Centralia at the age of 80 years. He was born in Carlyle on July 20, 1931, the son of John and Martha (Backs) Grayling. He married Janice Wilson on February 20, 1954 in Carlyle and she survives. Also surviving are a sister: Shirley Pommer and husband Frank of Beckemeyer; and a brother: Truman Grayling and wife Shirley of Carlyle.
"Butch" was a saw operator for area lumber companies. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially finding pecans.
In keeping with Mr. Grayling’s wishes, cremation services were performed. A private interment service will be held at a later date.
